We package the javaservice framework as a shareware product.

High Sierra Technology has packaged Mike Jennings' javaservice package as a product, ensuring that it does not suffer from Java 2 Hotspot bug #432306, which causes java processes running as services to exit when any user logs out of a Windows NT/Windows 2000 box.

Mike Jennings published the javaservice package in the 2000 March issue of Dr. Dobb's Journal. It is a framework that enables the writing of Win32 services in java. We need it (as an alternative to other service frameworks for NT) to ensure that our servers are able to clean up before shutdown. The javaservice package can be downloaded here.

We deliver a Document Processing System using EJB for a major company in Spain

High Sierra Technology has delivered a system to track trouble reporting and maintenance for a major company in the Transportation world. We are awaiting permission to quote the customer name, and to give more details of the applications.

We have used Jonas, an open source EJB Server, together with WWW's Jigsaw as web server and servlet container, and GNUjsp-1.0 to deliver JSP pages. The system runs under Windows NT, using our product javaservice. The database we have chosen for EJB persistency is Microsoft SQL Server 7.0.

There are plans to port the system to Jonas 2.0, with full EJB compliance and a cleaner architectural design. We will use Tomcat as the JSP and servlet engine.
